Care for Siberian Husky (and all dogs).

Dear fellow Siberian Husky Owners, please be aware that the normal shedding cycle for Siberian Husky (and all dogs) are seasonal. There are a lot of factors that goes into the shedding cycle;

Food is one of the main factor, if you use cheap quality food. It may seems like saving at first, but as the nutrition is compromise skin problem will slower develop, therefore more visitation to veterinarians to resolve the problems so it is always advisable to use good quality dog food.

Grooming is a process done by professional certified groomers to assist new growth of the coat and to remove dead fur, but some owners are being misled into thinking that if I de-shed (the procedure of removing excessive undercoat with a SHARP device - when use wrongly by unqualified personnel, he will cut the dog by accident) my dog will feel cooler. Think again, the undercoat act as a insulator from heat and cold. In other words with a thicker undercoat, the dog will pant less, feel cooler, less prone to insect bites, scratches or abrasions. Bathing and not drying the dog properly can also lead to skin problems, so make sure you dry the coat!

Like in the movies (eight below) Siberian Husky are pictured is a snow like environment so most of us will think that air conditioning is a must? But is it necessary? Having a shady kennel with a good amount of air circulation to cool the Siberian Husky (and all dogs) is recommended but air conditioning the kennel area is not a must. By keeping the Siberian Husky caged in an air conditioned room, we are not allowing the body of the dog to climatise to our climate which is both humid and warm. At the same time because of the cold living condition, the coat thens to grow longer instead of thicker (wrong length of coat accounting the Breed Standard).

Exercise is important to maintain good health and muscle mass of the Siberian Husky (and all dogs). All active dogs will prefer a good run in an enclosed fence in a yard but this may not be highly recommended for Siberian Huksy as they are sled dogs and have a thus have a tendency to run away so it will always be good to have the Siberian Husky obedient trained with a certifed dog trainer. Obedience training will teach the dog how to behave in a social manner in our society and at the same time come when called upon to.
Due to the lack of space in Singapore, Hydrotherapy Centres have become one of the most common exercise venues. In hydrotherapy the dogs are made to swim against currents to build up muscle and at the same time not exert pressure on the joints as they are in a gravity free environment (cause the upthrust of the water is supporting the body of the dog). Any for dogs with medical issue, hydrotherapy does help to improve the condition and the veterinarians are recommending it.

Clients are advise to stick to the recommend dog food, grooming process, obedience training schedule within the contract. Should you'll decide to do it differently, we will not be held responsible should the puppies grow up differently in size, character or behaviour.

We will always be here to assist and lend a hand to advise clients on the correct procedure to up keep and nuture the puppies correctly, should clients have any queries on the above.

We joined the "Siberian Night Walk" on July 4th, 2008 (the first for this year). It was a good time for us to intract with fellow Siberian Husky Owners.

This is Frost's Grand Daddy (and the puppies Great Grand Daddy) American / Canadian / Australian Grand Champion Innisfree's Alexander ( Imp USA) ( Siberian Husky), Alex was retired after only 3 years in the ring in Australia as the winner of more Best in Show awards than any other Siberian Husky in the world at that time with 67 Best in Show awards.. Alex is also the only dog to win the Australasian Show Dog of the Year twice as well as The Queensland Dog of the Year once.

How we started...

We are a small kennel located in Singapore. We started getting involved with the Siberian Husky in 1993. As our love grew, we started talking to other breeders in the U.S., learning from them the breeds' different traits, the types and the genetics of the breed. In 1995, we started showing in the SKC Championship Dog Show and enrolling ourselves in obedience class at the club. As our passion for dog grooming and training grew, we enrolled ourselves in Schools in the U.S. In 1997, we came back to Singapore after graduating from our Dog Grooming (NEW YORK SCHOOL OF DOG GROOMING) and Dog Training School (NATIONAL K-9 SCHOOL FOR DOG TRAINERS and TMD E-CADEMY) at the same time we brought back the first American and Canadian Siberians back to Singapore. Our objective is to share our passion and knowledge with all the Siberian Husky Lovers in Singapore as well as owners of other breeds. Being trained and certified with the right knowledge, we are confident that we are able to serve our clients better.

The above picture is our current dog used in our breeding progam. His name is Innisfree Frost of Simsonsibes, he is 4.5 years now.
